Faculty, graduate students, and undergraduates in the Department of Biology research a wide array of biological sub-disciplines spanning from molecules to ecosystems. Basic research findings expand our knowledge of the natural world and can have broad impacts in fields such as conservation, technology, and human health.
Department of Biology faculty and students develop collaborative networks both within and outside the Department as they conduct research. These collaborative efforts foster the sharing of ideas, techniques, and technologies, thereby greatly increasing research potential and productivity.
42. Yale University - Biological and Biomedical Sciences The Yale Combined Program in the Biological and Biomedical Sciences (BBS) offers unprecedented access to Yale's amazing array of bioscience resources, encompassing everything the university has to offer in one comprehensive, interdisciplinary graduate program.
BBS has no boundaries, either departmental or geographical. Students therefore have access to courses, seminars, and faculty labs in every department. Moreover, because Yale is unusual among major universities in having its main campus and medical school within walking distance of one another, students can participate in research activities anywhere - on the main University campus as well as at the world-renowned Yale School of Medicine.
